Jessie Koon

Photographer + Videographer

If a picture (or video) is worth a thousand words, Jessie Koon is a master storyteller. Jessie helps our clients advance their marketing strategies through forward-thinking photo, video, and editing services. Before each project, she asks the important questions: What’s the purpose of this project? Who is the audience? Why is it important? She then handles all aspects of the storyboarding, production, and finalization of the end product, always with the objectives of our clients in mind.

Jessie received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and a minor in Studio Art from Seattle University. She worked as a staff photographer for the school newspaper, The Spectator, for two years. After graduating, Jessie became increasingly interested in videography and began to expand her skillset beyond still images. She has also worked extensively as a freelancer, creating videos for local Tacoma nonprofits.

Her favorite part of being a MadCap team member has been learning new skillsets from her colleagues. She has gained valuable experience outside of photography and videography, making her a well-rounded member of the team.

Jessie is a big music lover, as she was raised on oldies but goodies by her dad. Her love of the 50s, 60s and 70s isn’t limited to music, however. When she’s not at work, you might find her thrift shopping for vintage treasures or watching a classic Alfred Hitchcock film.

Thor Escobarson

Chief Barketing Officer

Looking for a multiskilled Barketing expert? Then look no further! Thor Escobarson can do it all! When you need someone to sniff out a bad situation, add a little woof to your daily routine, or be told when its playtime, Thor can do all that and more.

Formerly attending a prestigious obedience school studying mechanical engineering, he discovered his potential in Barketing one day when he saw the mailman approach his house from the second story window. He let out a few loud barks and the rest is history. Thor then proceeded to drop out of obedience school to start and finish his Barketing education online. After finishing his degree, he then decided to work on his fetching and napping abilities in order to broaden his skill set. After some time, he was hired by MadCap as the new Chief Barketing Officer.

Thor keeps us all at MadCap Marketing (in particular our Web Developer) on task by handling the small things such as reminding us when its time to eat or alert us when there is someone at the door. He is dedicated, driven, innovative, and results-oriented, especially when it comes to getting belly rubs whenever he wants.

While not at work, Thor pretty much does the same thing as if he was. He does use some time outside of work to further his research in discovering the answer to “Who's a good boy?” and why he sometimes can’t find the ball when it is thrown.

Escobar (JM)

Senior Web Developer + UX + I.T. Analyst

Escobar is MadCap Marketing’s go-to, can’t-live-without Web Developer. It’s his job to make sure the functionality of our clients’ websites is just as awesome as the look and feel. And while he makes it look simple, building an easy-to-navigate, solutions-focused website takes a large amount of skill, patience, and intuition. Lucky for MadCap, Escobar has all three of these qualities!

Another key role of Escobar’s is providing our clients with I.T. systems analysis, design, and support. This includes troubleshooting complicated issues and solving web and I.T. mysteries—yes, he’s a modern-day tech detective. If he can't resolve it on his own, he usually knows who can. This sleuthing also happens to be his favorite part of working at MadCap Marketing!

Escobar boasts an interesting professional journey. He’s been a foster care Case Manager, bartender, cook, product photographer, tech entrepreneur, and freelance web developer and I.T. Analyst. This varied experience allows him to successfully work and collaborate with clients in various industries, while providing our team with new and unique perspectives.

In addition to being a web wizard, Escobar is a motorcycle enthusiast (you can find him riding the streets in cities up and down the I-5 corridor) an amateur street photographer, ukulele, acoustic, and electric guitar player, hiker, and gamer. He truly is a jack-of-all-trades!
